1. Download and install the RBdigital software to your computer

Register and download software (a one-time process) Go to RBdigital, select Register in the top right and complete the form.; Go to RBdigital Support to get software:; For Audiobooks, you can stream the book in your browser without additional software.If you'd like to download titles for offline listening or to transfer them to an MP3 player, download the RBdigital Media Manager for Windows.

2. Login to or Register with RBdigital through the library website

Connect to RBdigital for Audiobooks through the library website. When you are taken to the site, click 'Create New Account' to register.

Important: If you used Zinio with Winnipeg Public Library in the past, your username and password have been transferred to RBdigital, so you do not need to register for a new account. Use your old Zinio username and password to log in.

If you experience any problems logging in using your Zinio username and password, please connect with us through the Ask Us! form. (This problem likely has to do with your password and we can help you with resetting your password.)

If you are registering for the first time...

Creating an account is easy. Enter all of the details requested in the form and then click REGISTER. (You will sign in using the username and password that you created.)

4. Search or browse for a book

Search for a book by clicking on the magnifying glass and entering your search words.

Click on ADVANCED SEARCH to do a more detailed search.

Browse for a book by clicking on EXPLORE. You can further filter your results by GENRE and then filter those results even more by clicking on FILTER.

5. Borrow and download a book

When you find a book to borrow, click on CHECKOUT. By default, the book will be checked out for 21 days. If you'd like to change that to 1-20 days, click on the dropdown menu to the right of checkout.

After you click on CHECKOUT, the icon will change to DOWNLOAD. Click on DOWNLOAD.

6. Open up and Log in to the RBdigital software program that you installed on your computer.

Exit the browser and open the RBdigital software program that you installed on your computer. If you're using a PC, the program will show up as an icon on your desktop. If you're using a Mac, it will either show up as an icon on your desktop or in your Applications folder (that can be found by clicking on Finder).

The first time that you open this program you will be asked to fill out a form. Select Canada, enter your RBdigital username and password, and select Winnipeg Public Library.

Note: You will only need to do this once if you click on the boxes at the bottom (Remember Password and Automatic Login). Otherwise, you will be asked to enter your password if you close out of and reopen the program.

After you have logged in you will be taken to the main screen of the program. The program will sync your account with the activity that you did while searching online. Within a few moments, you will see your borrowed book appear!

Force quit the app, then open it again

  • iPhone, iPad, iPod touch: Force the app to close.
  • Apple Watch: With the app open, press and hold the side button to show the power options. Then press and hold the Digital Crown to quit the app.
  • Apple TV: Double press the TV/Home button and swipe left or right to find the app with the issue. Then swipe up to close the app. You can’t force apps to quit on Apple TV (3rd generation).

Restart your device

Restart your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Apple Watch, or Apple TV. Then open the app to see if it works as expected.

Check for updates

Make sure that your device has the latest version of iOS or iPadOS, watchOS, or tvOS. Then check for app updates.

  • iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, or Apple Watch: You can manually update apps. You might need a Wi-Fi connection to update some apps on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.
  • Apple TV: Go to Settings > Apps and turn on Automatically Update Apps. If you don't have automatic updates turned on, you can open the App Store, go to the Purchased tab, and open an app's product page to see if an update is available.

Reinstall the app

  • iPhone, iPad, iPod touch: Open the Settings app. Tap General, then tap iPhone Storage (or iPad Storage). Tap the affected app, then tap Offload app. Tap Offload app again. Wait a moment for the app to offload, then tap Reinstall App.
  • Apple TV: Highlight the app on the Home screen, then press and hold the Touch surface until the app jiggles. Press Play/Pause, then select Delete. Open the App Store and redownload the app. Some apps require subscriptions for activation. If you can't activate the app or you don’t remember your sign-in information, contact the app developer.
  • Apple Watch: Open the Watch app on your iPhone and tap the My Watch tab. Scroll to the app you want to remove, then tap it. Turn off Show App on Apple Watch, and wait for it to disappear from your watch's Home screen. To reinstall the app, scroll down to Available Apps in the My Watch tab and tap Install.
